Pssst… here’s yet another AI strategy.
Sandwiched directly between your unlimited budget, the end of your to-do list and a security program that totally does more but totally costs less, is a napkin full of autonomous agentic AI drawings that are going to save the universe for real.
AI is a decent Swiss Army Knife but an awful security guard
There are a lot of moments where a decent multi-tool is the pinnacle of the prepared human. Impressively carnal and incredibly gratifying that you carried it on your belt like a Temu batman for the last several years and you finally got to open a bottle, saw right through a finger-girth twig, tighten a cheap screw on a cheap pan or some other urban survivalist task. Let’s face it though, if I asked you to renovate your house with only a multi-tool, we’d be laughing about the attempt and moved on in under an hour. Why are we still talking about AI as a destination? Its a tool.
But GUH, the monies!?
While AI turns words into numbers and back again faster than Larry E. or Mark Z. earns a billion. Btw, to my Canadian friends, this is a rhyming literarism (Did I just make up a word) in the US from their last initials. If you still say Zed, you missed it but your TikTok-educated children got it. In other words, our identity is dying. Anyways. Money. People have made a ton of it. Am I the only one that seems to notice that a lot of it is speculative? Oracle promised huge amounts of maybe money for huge amounts of maybe AI to OpenAI that has huge amounts of Silicon Valley style ‘pre revenue’? I mean, the dude wasn’t wrong in that show.
The Bottom Line
AI in cybersecurity isn’t a destination; it’s a journey. And you, dear leader, are the navigator. Use AI as the powerful tool it is, but remember: the most sophisticated algorithm is still just the output of ‘averaging words’ in a trench coat. Now, go forth and lead with both your silicon sidekicks and your human heroes by your side.
